However, there’s no battery gauge anywhere on the lamp – and there’s no indicator in the app either – so it’s hard to tell whether the device is charging or not, whether it’s full up or about to die.
If there isn’t, a 12W wall adapter in the box will do the trick. That said, the button lets you use the lamp right out of the box, provided there’s a little bit of charge when it arrives. Placement of the button means you’ll need to pick up the lamp every time you want to control it manually – while the button only requires a small amount of force to activate, it’s enough to topple the device when on its stand. At the end of the day, this is significantly more than with the first generation Hue Go, where the manufacturer has specified up to three hours.
